Why am I seeing the Adblock Plus payment page?

The ABP payment page may show up in a few different situations. Learn more about why it appears and what you can do about it.

When we update the extension

When we update the extension we'll display the payment page to let you know about any new Premium features and offer you the option to upgrade if you aren't logged in. We typically update twice a month.

🔹 Already have Premium?

If you still see the payment page after updates, make sure you’ve activated the upgrade in the extension: Unlock Adblock Plus Premium. Once you're logged in, the page will stop appearing.

🔹 Not interested but still want to see what we're working on?

Simply close the page by clicking the “x” on the tab.

🔹 Don't want to see the update page again?

As of version 4.31.0, you can use these steps to disable the page from appearing:

  1. Click on the ABP icon on your browser's toolbar. If you don't see it on your toolbar, make sure it's pinned: Hide or show the Adblock Plus icon on your browser's toolbar.
  2. Click on the gear icon on the pop-up menu.
  3. Click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Deselect the option: Allow Adblock Plus to show occasional promotional messages.

When you first install the extension

Right after installing Adblock Plus, the payment page will appear. This is just to let you know about Premium and give you the option to upgrade or log in again if you have a subscription.

🔹 Not interested? Simply close the page by clicking the “x” on the tab.

🔹 Already have Premium? You can simply log in to your Premium account to activate the upgrade. Or just follow the steps here: Unlock Adblock Plus Premium.

Alternate scenario: There's a problem with your browser

If our payment page opens every time you start your browser, we're not doing that intentionally. Something is causing Adblock Plus to return to a "just installed" state or clearing your settings. Please reach out to us so we can help: Submit a ticket.
