Send your debug data

What is debug data?

Your Adblock Plus debug data is a simple text file that quickly outlines the settings for your desktop extension. It provides basic information about your browser, OS, and Adblock Plus settings. In many cases, providing your debug data allows us to more quickly understand the issue you are experiencing and provide a solution.

Where do I find my debug data?

Please use the steps for your browser below.

Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera
  1. Click on the Adblock Plus icon on your browser's toolbar. If you don't see it, make sure it's pinned: Hide or show the ABP icon.

  2. On the Adblock Plus pop-up menu, click the gear icon.

  3. On the Options page that opens, select the Help tab.

  4. Next to "Has our team requested some debug info?" click Download debug data.

  5. A file entitled adblockplus-data.txt will automatically be saved to your computer.

If our Support Team has requested this, please attach the file in your reply to our message.

If you don't have a support request open, but would like to include a copy of your debug data with your support request, you can send us the debug file using this form: Submit a ticket.

Safari (macOS)

The Safari Mac app does not have debug information. Instead, please provide the following information:

  1. Adblock Plus version number (Adblock Plus > About Adblock Plus).

  2. The macOS version number (Apple menu  > About This Mac).

  3. Screenshot of the entire screen on the web page, including the URL and Adblock Plus icon on the toolbar. You can find instructions here: How to capture a screenshot.
